TWO MONTHS and GOING!

Don’t forget to come down to Charlie’s Comics on Free Comic Book day and say hello. I’ll be there for a couple hours signing copies of Smiths and Pixies comics.

Phoenix Comicon is right around the corner and I’ll be at the Orbital Decay booth with my great friends Jacob and Mike. They will have issues uno and dos of Orbital Decay, which are hilarious. I will also be doing stand up comedy there with the S&M Comedy group and my good friend Jericho Davidson. Davidson has performed with Rob Delaney and Doug Stanhope, he’s a blast.

See you next week!

Dear Readers,

These are some exciting times. Now more then ever people are becoming aware and accepting of equality among gay people. I’ll never forget having debates with my family (to this day) about my views on gay marriage and how everyone should have a the right to be happy. Captain Unikorn is a big extension to my views on the subject.

Christian and I were writing up a story for Unite and Take Over anthology and Captain Unikorn was going to be the main character. We created this openly gay superhero, and Christian drew his influence from Freddie Mercury while Anderson Cooper was mine. As soon as Christian emailed me the final design of the character we knew that he had to give him his own book.

We debut this book at the Phoenix Comicon 2012 at the exact time DC outed Allan Scott and Marvel had the big Astonishing X-Men wedding issue with Northstar. We had created this book months before any of this was in the press. Captain Unikorn isn’t a marketing strategy to capitalize on the craze or to make a gay character for the sake of it. Not to say those characters were, but we haven’t really heard from them since.

He’s a big-hairy-gay-hero that kill bigots, and we wouldn’t have him any other way.

Cheers,

Henry & Christian

Attention comic book industry (writers, artist ect.):

Christian and I had a story in the successful Kickstarter project Break the Walls – Comic Stories Inspired by The Pixies anthology that was published by SpazDog Press. The features Ryan Cody (Ulitmate Spiderman), Scott Godlewski (Code Breakers), and Ernest Romero (Girl Scouts in Space!) Michael G Macropoulos (Spooky Girl.)  2012 Harvey Award nominations have opened up and we’d really apprecaited it if we can get your nomination for best anthology of the year.

Dear Readers,

Thanks for keeping up with us and making this happen.

Christian and I have been working hard on our new book REALLY VIOLENT and started a new comic called The Frail Heart of August Burn.  We are very excited to work with Gene Hall,  local Tucson painter/artist.  I’m working on another story with Xeric Foundation award-winning artist Michael G Macropoulos. The four issue mini series is called Vaya Con Diablo. More details and artwork to come.

I also start writing a novel called LOCA: GUERO CANELO. Don’t worry, the book is in english. As soon as I’m done it will be editted and placed in Amazon, Kindle, and blah blah blah.

Please like, share, retweet and tell your friends about Captain Unikorn and follow. Thanks for your support and I’ll will see you next week.

See you next week,

Henry Barajas and Christian Vilaire
